Jamie Raab

Jamie Raab is currently Editor At Large for Macmillan, acquiring books for all the company’s imprints.  Prior to that, she co-founded Celadon Books, a division of Macmillan Publishers and was the division’s President and Publisher. For many years she was President and Publisher of Grand Central Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group.  In that role, she directed the publication of approximately 275 titles per year on Grand Central Publishing’s various lists. Ms. Raab was also responsible for overseeing publishing activities of its imprints, including Twelve, Grand Central Life & Style, and Forever, which were created during her tenure.

Ms. Raab joined the company (then Warner Books) in 1986 and over her years with the company acquired and/or edited a wide range of fiction and nonfiction titles, including works by Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Nicholas Sparks, Michael Moore, Felice Schwartz, Nelson DeMille, Kitty Kelley, Robin Roberts, Amy Sedaris, Sandra Brown, Anne Rivers Siddons, Billie Letts,  Lalita Tademy, and Dr. Jane Goodall.

Under Ms. Raab’s direction, Grand Central Publishing and its imprints published an impressive and eclectic range of fiction and nonfiction. A sampling includes: David Baldacci, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, Min Jin Lee, Jean Korelitz, Edward Kennedy, Chelsea Handler, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sebastian Junger.

Ms. Raab earned her B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She was a long-standing member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Publishing at NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies and a board member of Goddard-Riverside Community Center. Ms. Raab was named one of the “Top Women in Book Publishing” by Book Business magazine. She lives in New York City.
