Tracy Nesdoly is Vice President, Communications for Rakuten Kobo, a global digital bookseller based in Toronto and owned by Tokyo-based Rakuten Group Inc. With more than 58 million readers and selling in 190 countries, Kobo is the largest pureplay digital book retailer in the world.

At Kobo, Tracy leads internal and external communications and organic social media strategy globally, as well as the company’s corporate social responsibility program. She is also co-executive sponsor of the company’s diversity and inclusion strategy, president of Rakuten Americas’ Rakuten Cares employee committee, and is a member of the engagement committee of Women@Rakuten.

 Prior to joining Kobo Tracy led communications strategy for a number of companies including Astral Television Networks and Workopolis, and was Vice President Communications and Category Development for Chapters Indigo, Canada’s largest bookstore chain where she was also part of the launch team for the online business in the role of editor in chief in charge of merchandising and content.

In addition to her role on the board of the Carol Shields Prize, she is a member of the professional advisory committee for the Humber School of Writers.
